Hate

I hate things that most of people like. For example most Malaysians love Manchester United. I absolutely hate it. I also hate Ferrari - both the F1 team and the cars. I hate Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and the whole High School Musical thing. Can't stand it. It's not an attempt at being different rather perhaps it's a stand against monopoly.

Bodoh laaaa

A bunch of idiots (read: Malay) had a demonstration against the relocation of a temple in Shah Alam today. The sick shit about it was they had a cow's head with them and stepped and spat on it whilst a seemingly angry man who shouted bullshit about 'Melayu' and 'Islam' on a loud speaker. This is the sort of thing that makse me feel embarrassed to call myself a Malay and give the religion a bad rap amongst non-Muslims in Malaysia. Oh btw, defiling a dead animal like that is decidedly not Islam no matter how you look at it. The funny thing is they had the cheek to say that the whole cow's head thing was not representative of the protesters. Dude, if it wasn't, then why is there a picture of a man with one leg on the poor animal's head and one hand on a loud speaker? Clearly, he was the leader of the whole thing and clearly he was endorsing it. And no one seemed to have the decency to stop such a seditious, provocative, and blatant threat to internal peace and security, not even the police. Malaysia is so fucked up. Bodoh punya Melayu.

So fasting month is supposed to be the time when people are encouraged to pray more and ask for more things. Which is great! However one of the thing that I have come to realise come each Ramadan is how the Imam tends to read really looooooong doa at the end of prayers in arabic. Which is perhaps good except for the fact that I don't understand a single word of it!! For all I know he could be praying for more cash / wives come this Eid and I obligingly 'Amin' everything. Why the fuck don't they teach me arabic properly when I was younger when I have to learn all that Geography, History, and KH bullshit. Islamic education in Malaysia is either too weird and emphasises too much on peripheral / high level stuff and neglects simple practical fundamentals or is just too idealistic. I'd probably refrain from saying that it is a complete mess because I'm by no means an educator and not even close to being the religious type anyway. HOwever I do feel that the lack of understanding of what the imam is saying in his prayers/doa contributes greatly to many a youngsters feeling bored and dozing off during the nightly Tarawih sessions...
Oh and have you ever had that thing where people start to cry during tarawih prayers because the melody of the Imam's recitation is so great but have absolutely no idea what those surah's actually mean?

I spy a pie

Made a pie today. Also made one the day before yesterday but I didn't take picture of it. The shortcrust pastry was easy enough to make but hard to get right especially in Malaysia where it is fucking hot. Anyway, it came out alright though the pastry was kinda hard due most probably to the temperature issue.
Despite the nationwide shortage of sugar, there was a phenomenal amount of it in the filling...

Update and Palace of Justice

Received letter from SPA today. Also from the medical council. They seem to have quite a sense of humour which was a pleasant surprise. Gonna need to register with the minitry next apparently. Then medical check ups etc.

On another note I went to the big white domed Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. Its massive! And somehow very quiet. There seemed to be hardly anyone around. Maybe there were people but the place is just ridiculously huge that they seem to be spread out from each other.

Let's start again

This blog has become quite the rubbish dump and has not been updated in freaking ages!! This post will serve to rectify that.

So far I have passed my final exams albeit at the second try. So I went for a job interview with the ever benevolent people at the Public Services Commission and am right now waiting for the result of that interview.

So, at the moment yours truly is an unemplyed loser who is not contributing to Malaysia's GDP in any way and is perhaps dragging down the country's GDP per capita figure.

Until I hear from them I suppose I wont be going anywhere. Haih

Toradora and Oh! My GIrl

These two series have been my dinner accompaniment for the past month and I have to say they were both surprisingly quite good.

Toradora

'Since ancient times the dragon is the only beast that can stand with the tiger'

This anime has only 2+1 main female characters and no ecchi stuff at all and yet is quite possibly one of the best romantic comedy anime to come out in quite sometime. There are actually 2 male love interest! So it's not quite your typical romance harem or pretty-boy-shoujo type. Based on a light novel, it quite possibly is even better than Love Hina which in itself is a tough act to beat. The voice of the main female character, Taiga, is played by Kugimiya Rie who also does Kagura from Gintama (my favourite long running series - move over Naruto! your fillers suck!) so its great to hear the voice in a different role. Also, the theme songs are done by Horie Yui who also lends her voice to the character Kushieda (what??!!! Horie Yui is not the main character??!!!) so thats TWO of my favoutite anime voice actresses in one show! It's like an otaku dream come true.

Oh! My Girl

Kato Rosa is soooooo cute! And Hayami Mokomichi (Night Tenjo from Zettai Kareshi) proves that he is more than just another chain smoking ikemen in a Monday night jdorama. He can actually act! And very well at that. Even the little brat is actually pretty good. The plot is a bit predictable and all but it's a great family feel good drama with with cute people abound so there's no reason to miss it.
